Here’s another little reminder that May 12 is Mother’s Day. Have you thought about it yet? Maybe you live too far to pay your mom a visit and just want to send her something to let her know you’re thinking about her. Well consider these beautiful paper flowers from Frances & Francis Etsy shop. How lovely would it be for your mom to get one of these beauties delivered in a box with a special Mother’s Day message? If you’re the creative DIY type this could be something you attempt yourself…just pay a visit to your local paper store.
I love food & cooking. I’ve even taken a few semi-pro cooking classes but the truth is I don’t apply too much of it living solo. It’s so much more fun to cook with/for people. There’s nothing like walking into a kitchen that smells amazing. But every once and awhile I get in the mood to try something new. I was really inspired by a recipe for Roasted Chestnut Honey & Cheese pizza I saw on Design Sponge quite some time ago and finally got around to trying it. It sounded and looked delicious and I just so happened to have a few chestnuts (I know, weird) so I decided to give it a shot.
Who can resist ingredients like this?

…and the delicious results. Not too bad! The honey just made everything look golden and delicious. The chestnuts were a bit fussy to me – I think in the future I will replace with pine nuts. But overall a delicious success.

Loved stumbling across these cheerful and pretty iPhone cases from pattern maker & designer Jessica Jones on her blog today. So bold! They are offered on the Uncommon website. If these inspire you but you kinda want to do your own thing they also offer custom cases where you can upload your own files.
I came across this photo the other day and it took my breath away a little. I was so attracted by the bold colours, the beautiful photography and just the whole magic of it I guess. I’ve also kinda had mermaids on the mind believe it or not. Not sure what that means?!
This photo inspired me to search for other mermaid imagery and I came across some beautiful photos. Take a look. They really are a sweet escape. It makes you think for just a second that this beautiful mythical creature really exists.
And look at this cute little mermaid.
I think mermaids have been at the back of my mind since last summer when I saw these beauties at the Aberfoyle Antique Market. I was in a cheap mood I’m still kicking myself to this day for not buying them. Vintage shopping regrets are the worst because you snooze, you lose.
But don’t worry. There is some other cute mermaid themed goodies out there. Here’s a great roundup:
