One of the biggest ones was to bring myself up-to-date with the times and create a website for myself. The objective was to showcase my work and all things creative that I have to offer. In today’s industry not having a website just ins’t an option.
I’m not a web designer or really familiar with putting together a website (another goal for the new year) so this was a little bit of a daunting challenge for me. But I have to say that our brains are pretty amazing and after a few slow starts and some trail and error I managed to figure out enough to put something together I’m happy with…well at least for now until I learn some new tricks.
I came up with my ‘identity’ which I think is a good combination of being very clean & simple but also fun & colourful, which I think is an accurate reflection of me. The site is very basic and clean but that was the objective so that the work is the focus. I also took the opportunity to highlight some of my other creative endeavours such as this blog, my photography and handmade goodies. You can check it all out at melissadirenzo.com.
